My kids’ favorite pizza changed from the standard pepperoni pizza to buffalo chicken pizza when the pizza place next to their school added it to the menu a few years ago. Now, when I make pizza at home on my pellet grill, they always ask for buffalo chicken pizza. So, here is my recipe.

Buffalo Chicken Pizza Ingredients

Buffalo Chicken Pizza Ingredients

  • 1.5 Cups Buffalo Chicken (I use breaded chicken chunks tossed in buffalo sauce)
  • 1.5 Cups Buffalo Sauce (Make it homemade with this recipe, or use pre-made wing sauce.)
  • 2 cups freshly grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese chunks
  • 1/4 cup Ranch Dressing. (You can make your own or use your favorite store-bought ranch.)
  • 1 pizza dough (I used pizza dough from a local pizza place)

Substitutes

  • You can use plain grilled chicken or any leftover chicken instead of breaded chicken chunks. Toss the meat in buffalo sauce before adding it to the pizza.
  • Use Blue Cheese dressing instead of Ranch.
  • Pre-shredded mozzarella (Please don’t do this. Freshly grated cheese is much better)
  • Homemade pizza dough (Here is a link to an easy pizza crust recipe)

Pizza Oven Tip

The difference between a good and a great pizza is temperature and technique. A blazing hot pizza oven isn’t just about heat—it’s about understanding how that heat transforms your ingredients. You want bubbly cheese and a fully cooked golden brown crust. The hard part is getting everything to come together at the same time. Learn your pizza oven and practice.

Step 4: Garnish

Once the buffalo chicken pizza is cooked, sprinkle the blue cheese chunks evenly on the top of the Buffalo cheese pizza and then drizzle the ranch or blue cheese dressing on the top.

Slice it immediately and serve it hot.

Buffalo Chicken Pizza Recipe Variations

  1. Extra Spicy Version – Use extra spicy buffalo sauce
  2. Mild Alternative – Use BBQ sauce instead of Buffalo sauce.
  3. Vegetarian Option – Use Buffalo Cauliflower instead of chicken.

What to Serve With

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How spicy is this pizza? This pizza is as spicy as the buffalo sauce that you choose. You can make or buy mild or hot buffalo sauce.
  2. Can you make this gluten-free? Yes, you would need a gluten-free crust and unbreaded chicken.

Storing and Reheating

I typically store leftover pizza in a zipper bag in the refrigerator. It’s good for 3-4 days. You can microwave it to reheat it, but I prefer it in the oven.

Serving Size

  • This 14”- 15” pizza recipe serves 3-4 people.
  • You can make these in advance and reheat them in the oven right before you serve them.

Making buffalo chicken pizza at home isn’t just about saving money—it’s about creating those perfect moments when the whole family gathers around a piping hot, freshly made pizza.

Remember, the key to success lies in those little details: freshly grated cheese, the right stone temperature, and that crucial pizza rotation every few minutes. Don’t be discouraged if your first attempt isn’t perfect. Like any great recipe, practice makes perfect, and trust me—your family won’t mind being taste testers along the way.
