Ledge PRIME 2.0 Features
Wide Temperature Range
One of the noticeable features of the Ledge is that it is capable of temperatures ranging from 150°F to 550°F. That allows you to smoke at extremely low temperatures to get the most smoke flavor out of your wood pellets. You can also crank the temperature up to grill burgers and hot dogs.
Both AC And DC Power
Now 174 pounds might not be the most portable pellet grill in the world. However, I can appreciate the versatility here. It plugs in like most standard pellet grills to an outdoor outlet. But it also has the ability to plug into a vehicle using DC. So if you’re a tailgater who wants to set up bright and early on gameday, you can load the Ledge into your truck and use your truck to power it.
A World Of Accessories
RACKT System
As part of the new PRIME 2.0 series, GMG debuted the new RACKT system. This is a modular system of grill racks that gives you the most customization for your cooking chamber. Each of the PRIME 2.0 grills, including the Ledge, is built to accept all of the accessories of the RACKT system.
Available grill racks include a rib rack and a griddle pan.
SideBURN Attachment Accessory
One of the biggest knocks on pellet grills is the lack of true searing capability. Different manufacturers have employed different tactics to address it. The Ledge can reach 550°F which is plenty hot for grilling purposes, but it’s still not the same as an open-flame sear.
So GMG created the SideBURN attachment for the PRIME 2.0 series of grills. It is an electric infrared burner capable of almost 700°F, plenty hot to get a beautiful sear on steaks. It can also be used as a simple side burner capable of temperatures as low as 284°F.
Pizza Oven
With a pellet grill capable of temperatures up to 550°F, it may not necessarily rival a traditional wood-burning brick oven pizza. But it’s capable of the heat necessary to make the GMG pizza oven attachment work. This attachment sits directly over the firebox and can create temperatures of up to 800°F, worthy of a brick oven.
Final Thoughts
The GMG Ledge PRIME 2.0 pellet grill brings a lot of versatility to the pellet-grilling game. It has a wide temperature range and can run off both AC and DC for power. Stay tuned for Brent’s full review after he used this grill a few times!
