Features Of The New Grilla Grills Mammoth Vertical Pellet Smoker
One of the biggest selling points of the Mammoth is its size. This vertical pellet smoker fits the bill if you want to host regular parties during the summer. But what all does it have to offer?
Mammoth Cooking Space
Yes, I’m going to talk a little about the cooking space. And that’s because it’s worth breaking down. The Mammoth comes with five regular cooking racks with a total of 1,660 sq inches of cooking space. That’s a ton of cooking space, perfect for a lot of pork butts, ribs, or chickens.

But the Mammoth also comes with sausage hooks to hang sausages for smoking. That’s a pretty unique feature. So, if you’re a big fan of smoked sausages, the Mammoth comes ready to handle 24 sausages out of the box.
Then, you can order more racks from Grilla Grills to expand your cooking space to 3,652 sq inches. The Mammoth has 11 grate tracks, so you can customize your setup with the five racks included or throw 10 racks into it for maximum cooking space. If you want to smoke a ton of food, the Mammoth is perfect without taking over your entire outdoor cooking area.
All The Fuel
The Mammoth is a vertical pellet smoker, so of course, it’s fueled by wood pellets. And it’s got a massive 40lb pellet hopper to ensure you’re going to get plenty of fuel for both heat and smoke. Grilla Grills says that you can get 50+ hours of smoking time on a full hopper when running at 250°F, which is incredibly efficient. Part of that is the double-walled construction to help maintain efficiency even in colder temperatures.

But Grilla Grills also gives you another option for smoke. The company designed a unique deflector over the firepot with a lip so you can put wood chips or even wood chunks on the deflector. That will give you even more true wood smoke flavor when using the Mammoth.

Digital Controller
Grilla Grills did not skimp on the technology when it comes to the Mammoth, either. At the heart of the Mammoth is the Alpha Connect 2.0 controller. The control board allows you to connect the Mammoth to your phone via Wi-Fi so you can monitor both the smoker and internal temperatures via the two meat probe spots on the controller.
The Mammoth’s controller also has the TempTamer feature. TempTamer helps mitigate temperature fluctuations that occur when you open the smoker’s door.

My Final Thoughts
When I saw the Grilla Grills Mammoth vertical pellet smoker, I was quite impressed. After diving into some of the features and looking at the specifications, my initial impressions were confirmed. The Mammoth is a powerhouse pellet smoker perfect for hosting parties.
I absolutely love that I can add wood chips or chunks for even more wood flavor without sacrificing the cooking space. And a 40lb pellet hopper ensures I don’t have to worry about running out of pellets mid-cook. I’m also a big fan of the versatility between standard cooking grates and the sausage hooks.
The Grilla Grills Mammoth vertical pellet smoker looks to be a standout option for people who want to smoke a lot of meat regularly. Stay tuned to AngryBBQ.com for more information and hopefully a long-term review to come!
