Whenever a new year starts, I know it’s time to keep a close eye on grill manufacturers. Sure, new grills come out year-round, but some companies like to start off the new year with a bang. And 2025 has been no different with the new Weber Smoque Pellet Smokers.
This comes only a year after Weber launched the Searwood pellet grills. But the Smoque pellet smokers are not a direct replacement for the Searwoods. So what are the new features and what sets the new line apart?

Features Of The New Weber Smoque Pellet Smokers
So the first thing that may jump out at you (as it did for me) from the specs table is the price point. While the Smoque pellet smokers are slightly smaller than their comparable Searwood counterparts, they are a nice bit cheaper. But that doesn’t mean Weber skimped out on these pellet smokers’ features, either.
Wi-Fi And Bluetooth Connectivity
Sometimes when you get into the lower price points for pellet grills, you sacrifice built-in connectivity. The Weber Smoque pellet smokers do not. Both come with digital controllers that are Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-compatible out of the box.
Not only does that mean you can control settings using the Weber Connect app on your phone, both Smoque pellet smokers come with two probe ports. And yes, both smokers come with two probes in the box as well. So you can monitor both the smoker and internal temperatures from the same app on your phone.

Emphasis On Smoking
Another spot where the Smoque pellet smokers differentiate themselves from the Searwood grills is a focus on smoking. The new Smoque smokers do not have quite the same temperature range (600°F top temperature for the Searwoods, 500°F for the Smoques).
That’s because the Smoque pellet smokers got rid of the Direct Flame system on the Searwoods in exchange for the new SmoqueVent system. This helps promote better smoke flow throughout the cooking chamber to increase flavor and promote better bark formation. The controller also has the SmokeBoost setting system to help add even more smoke to the cooking chamber.
Weber also gave the Smoque pellet smokers a 20-pound pellet hopper which is perfect for most home usage. It’ll ensure you won’t run out of pellets in the middle of smoking even a brisket.
Integrated Ash And Grease Cleanup
One of the most important parts of using a smoker or grill of any type is maintaining it and cleaning it. It makes your smoker or grill run better and helps prevent issues like flare-ups or even grease fires. And Weber made an easier way to handle that on the Smoque pellet smokers.
Like a lot of pellet grills, including most I’ve owned, you do need to remove parts of the interior to access the bottom of the grill. But you don’t need to pull any debris up. There is a drain spot in the bottom of the pellet grill that you can scrape the grease and ash into to fall into a collection tray underneath the smoker. Then you just dump and clean before replacing it!

My Impressions Of The New Weber Smoque Pellet Smokers
I’m a big fan of making barbecue as accessible to as many people as possible. And part of that is making the equipment more affordable and easier to use. The new Smoque pellet smokers check both of those boxes. They may not have all the features of a $1,500+ pellet grill, but for someone looking to step up their backyard barbecue game, these smokers fit the bill perfectly.
These aren’t barebones pellet smokers, either. You’ve got good connectivity options with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, they come with food probes and have good accessories you can add. You can purchase a folding front table and side table from their Weber Works system, and they are even compatible with the Weber Crafted cookware system. There’s even an optional bottom shelf you can add.

But you don’t need to get any of those accessories to make the Weber Smoque pellet smoker a great option for your backyard. And as I always say, if you can afford it and have the room, always opt for the bigger cooking space. I prefer having the extra room for when there’s a big sale on meat or if I’m hosting a party.
In all, I like what I’ve seen of the new Weber Smoque pellet smokers, especially that they’re making high-quality smokers more widely available thanks to a lower price point. Stay tuned for more information and hopefully a long-term review!
